The Federation protocol is how diaspora* servers (and other servers supporting this protocol) talk to each other. diaspora* release 0.6.3.0 and newer has support to receive entities with this protocol, but was still sending entities with an older protocol. Since diaspora* release 0.7.0.0 (August 2017) this protocol is fully supported.

  • An implementation of this protocol is available as a Ruby Gem under the AGPL on GitHub. This is the library used by the diaspora* project.
